     The school that I was assigned to is the SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Surakarta. It is located at Jl. Dr. Moewardi No. 24 Surakarta. The school has a strategic location in the middle of Solo and integrated with the Kottabarat mosque. It has been established in the year 2000. SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus Surakarta is a private school and its accreditation level is A.

 

     SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus’s vision is being a primary school that excels in monotheism and science and forms Muslim humans who are qualified ulul albab. Its missions are 1) organizing a human learning teaching process in accordance with children's development, 2) realizing qualified education staff Ulil albab; and 3) cultivating a superior culture for all school members. The school’s aims are 1) Improve scientific quality, practice the implementation of religion and habituate Islamic students, 2) Print smart and Islamic characters, 3) Increase the professionalism of education staff to support school performance, 4) Increase commitment of education staff to continue to innovate, 5) Improve student achievement in academic and non-academic fields; and 6) Optimize the use of sarpras to support the implementation of learning.

     In terms of facilities, SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus has clean and comfortable air-conditioned classrooms equipped with multimedia facilities such as LCD Projector, white screen, and speaker. It has available MIPA laboratory computers and music laboratory that support learning. It also has an air-conditioned library with comfortable reading rooms where the students can visit during non-class hours and also when they need to find some references. The teachers and staff have S-1 and S-2 education with special training and under the guidance of expert consultants which can assure that students’ quality education. In terms of classroom size, it can accommodate a limited class with a ratio of one class with two teachers and a maximum of thirty students.

     Moreover, SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus offers many extracurricular activities for further self-development. These are 1) Guide to Hizbul Wathan (HW), 2) Futsal, 3) Self Defense Art Tapak Suci Putra Muhammadiyah (TPSM), 4) Dance, 5) Music and vocals, 6) Drama, 7) Computer, 8) English, 9) Relax, 10) Be defensive, 11) Khitobah, 12) Painting, 13) Journalistic, 14) MIPA, 15) Caligraphy; and 16) Robotic.

     Furthermore, SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus has full day school which is God willing and supports good habits in an educated atmosphere. It also practices transformative learning or how learning can be done in real life, not only in theory but also in practice. Their learning model is learning by doing to be able to create knowledge through experience. They also have Parent’s Day where there is a parenting program and home visitation in an effort to establish good relations with the parents of the students. Also, they practice Islamic habituation in which students behave according to the teachings of Islam such as greeting when meeting friends, teachers, and employees. Shaking hands, eat and drink with their right hand and while sitting and keeping their area clean are also being practiced. They also practice the habituation of duha and tadarus prayers which are carried out in the morning before the lesson begins. Also, they pray when starting and ending the lesson. In SD Muhammadiyah Program Khusus, the students are being trained to become independent. During lunch, the students take their own eating utensils and take food on their own. After eating, they wash the utensils that they used and place it in their original place. All of these are done independently by the students but still under the supervision of a teacher.
