TEACHING PLAN

In Indonesia, the teaching plan is called Rencana Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran or RPP. In the Philippines, it is called lesson plan or LP. The teaching plan that I used during my SeaTeach practicum is the teaching plan that I use in the Philippines. I showed it to my SD Coordinator and he said that I can use the same teaching plan when I teach in Indonesia because it is almost the same. The method that I used in my teaching plans is the 4A's method. The 4A's method is comprised of the Activity, Analysis, Abstraction, and Application.

I chose the 4A's method because it starts from an activity that can prompt the students' curiosity about the lesson and it can make them interested and focused throughout the discussion. After the activity will be the analysis. The analysis is the discussion of the lesson in detail. The giving of definitions, examples, explanations, and other necessary information happen in analysis. After analysis is the abstraction. In abstraction, the teacher or the students can give the final input, summary or insight about the lesson discussed. In 4A's, not only the teacher can give input but also the students. It is a student-centered approach that requires the student's participation, inputs, and ideas about the lesson. Lastly is the application.  Application is the part where the teacher can test if the students can apply their learning in real setting. It is up to the teacher's creativity how to test the students.

Before I deliver my lesson, I wrote a 4A's lesson plan first in English. After writing in English I translated it to Bahasa Indonesia with the help of Google Translate.

The teaching plan that I wrote is according to the topic that was given to me by my cooperating teacher. When my cooperating teacher gave me the topics to discuss, he also lent me books to be used as reference in writing my teaching plan.  I followed the information on the book and I also added some necessary information and examples to the lesson for better understanding of my students.
